Welcome to my World Friends!
About me.....
My husband, Dan, and I are a blended family with five kids who no longer live at home, but have started out in their own lives. We live in a beautiful, wee village on the river in Southern Ontario, Canada and have been here for three years, living a comfortable, happy life with our three dogs, Elmo, Rainy & Blarney. My blog name came from my first love in the garden which was herbs...growing, cooking and crafting with them, but I also love to refurbish old things and I attempt decorating our home in my own eclectic style. I no longer work, due to chronic back pain, and that's a whole other story you really don't want to have to listen to...but, I was a 911 Operator/Police Dispatcher for many years and I love people! Hopefully I'll be able to contribute quite frequently to Her-Ballistic Garden!
My Bronson...
This here is the love of my life, Dan! He's my soulmate for sure...I'm one of the lucky ones, I know!
We've been together for almost 19yrs and although the first several were pretty tough blending our families together, we managed to overcome so many obstacles in being step-parents and having step-children and we love all of them like they were our very own! They range in age now from 22yrs to 30yrs. Wow!
Dan is my Bronson....anyone ever see that show...."And Then Came Bronson". It was about a guy who roams around the United States on his motorcycle, just encountering different things along the way...but he was a super cool guy! Dan's a retired police officer of 32yrs! So, I guess you can figure out where I met him! Years ago we went on a trip down to Cape Cod on his 1979 Harley and it was one of the best trips of my life. I understand his love of riding totally!
He's my go to guy...for sure! "Dan, can you drill this?", "Dan, can you spraypaint this?" (although I do spraypaint as well....love it) and "Dan, what do you think of this colour?". Hahaha! Poor Dan....I'm so lucky he puts up with my crazy ballistic thoughts so calmly...I'm hard to keep up with I think!

These three hooligans are our crazy dogs! Rainy is our escape artist....she just wants to run and run and run...away! She's afraid of Thunder, firecrackers and any other loud bangs...you'll find her behind our bed if any of those noises start up! Elmo is our little prince...or thinks he is! I didn't want to embarass him by putting a photo of him trimmed on this page....he looks like Fifi when he's trimmed right up....I don't think he likes it much!
My favourite thing about Elmo is....he hugs! Literally, if you hold him up close to your neck, he'll wrap his paws around and squeeze you like a hug! And, last, our Sweet Blarney....a nice Irish name for an Irish Setter who talks more than he barks! He's a going concern in these puppy days!
