I seem to have this phenomena quite often...not as much as I used to, which after reading up on Wikipedia and Science-How Stuff Works makes me feel like I should be going in for a temporal lobe checkup!  Apparently, it's been proven that deja vu is linked to temporal lobe seizures in many cases.  However, it does seem generally that no one actual knows the cause or reason....it could be ESP or it could be....get this....one eye sees something before the other eye and it's like a flash memory going on.  How weird is that?!  Or, it could have happened in a dream.

This latter event happened to me very strongly, years ago.  I was 21yrs old when I had the dream about sitting in my parents backyard filling out some kind of forms with another girl who apparently I knew well in the dream, however didn't have a clue who she was at that time.  It was a sunny, beautiful day and we were laughing and having a good time.  I remember waking up and telling my friend about the dream in detail because it was one of those uncanny dreams where every detail is totally clear and precise and even though the dream is innocuous, you find it unsettling.  I was living in BC at the time of the dream.

The following year, I moved back to Ontario, with my daughter and decided to attend Park Business College.  The course started in September and one day in the summer, when I was taking a bus back up the mountain in Hamilton, I met a girl who was struggling to get her young daughter and her stroller up onto the bus.  I assisted her up and in, then we sat together and talked the whole rest of our journey.  Ginnie and I exchanged phone numbers because she was interested in attending Park Business College too and wanted to know more about it!  We became friends quite quickly and not only was her bus stop only one stop ahead of mine, but our circumstances were the same as well....both single moms, living back at home with our parents for a little while while we got on our feet.

Here's the deja vu part!  A week or two later, we were sitting in my parents backyard and filling out our OSAP papers on the patio table under the umbrella when the strongest deja vu I'd ever had came over me.  I had chills from this one, because I remembered telling my friend in BC, at the time of the initial dream,  how strange it was that I'd be sitting filling out papers in Ontario with someone I didn't know!

I believe we all have a little ESP in us and that only very occasionally does it show itself.  These phenoma, when they occur, make us all realize there's something so much bigger out there than just our little worlds!

And....in case you've never experienced Deja Vu......

Hahahahahaha!
