I came across this little shelf in a mall store that sold used items and country folk art
in the form of furniture and plaques, etc.
For the life of me, I can't remember the name of that store.
(I'm almost 50, don't forget!)
But, the best part about the rusted dirty thing was that it was $9.99!
After spraypainting, it now takes a place of honour above the royal throne
in our powder room on the main floor.
Those of you who grew up in the 60s/70s must remember this steel diamond
patterned look that was on outdoor patio tables or magazine racks....
from my collection of bottles.
This powder room was painted prior to my starting a blog, so I don't have before
photos, however, this next photo will show you the colour it was before.
I'm ecstatic to have it transformed to light and airy.
I like the feel of them here on this wall and they're not stowed
away in a cupboard somewhere where no one can see them!
powder room...but I'm nothing if not strange!
I also hung a lovely dried flower collage my Aunt Linda gifted me many years ago.
She created this herself and I'm happy I have a place to display it now.
bargain buy can change your whole view of a room?
